• Functional integration: Measurement, monitoring, protection, control and self-diagnostic functions are integrated in one. It can be used in a variety of different medium voltage applications, such as feeder protection, transformer protection and motor protection.

• Application flexibility:

• With its integrated communication protocol, it can be easily integrated into any substation automation system from ABB or a third party, providing superior flexibility and scalability compared to more traditional methods, enabling smart, clean solutions. The software solution allows for use in all ABB primary air and gas insulated switchgear solutions.

• It consists of a host unit and a locally operable human-machine interface (HMI), which are connected by a serial cable. The main unit includes power board, motherboard, analog and switching input/output (I/O) modules, and several optional modules for additional functions; HMI is convenient for local control of the switch cabinet, equipped with its own power board, which can be installed on the low-voltage chamber door panel or in the special machine box near the main engine, for local operation of the primary components in the switch cabinet, setting protection parameters, checking events and measuring values. The separation of the HMI and the host increases the flexibility of the application, such as the ability to use a single host unit (no HMI), one HMI to serve several hosts, easy to install the HMI in the most suitable location, and a single host in a low-voltage chamber.

• Specific applications: It can be used in substations and industrial fields of medium voltage distribution network.

• Protection function:

• Has a variety of protection functions, including overcurrent protection, tripping protection, overload protection, motor protection (such as start monitoring, start times calculation, rotor gridlock, thermal load monitoring, underpower, reverse power and load imbalance protection). Differential and limited ground fault protection is also included for high power transformers. Special type products are approved by ATEX for use in explosive environments.

• With low voltage, overvoltage protection, check synchronization and frequency protection, such as busbar cabinet, incoming cabinet required a full set of protection functions. The ability to synchronize with an external clock enables the time scale accuracy of the fault recorder and event recorder to reach 1ms.
