Configuration flexibility of ABB RED670

The ABB RED670 has extremely high configuration flexibility. It has four different software options available for ordering, which are suitable for most applications with only minor or no changes needed. On the PCM600 engineering platform, minor modifications can be made to binary inputs and outputs using the signal matrix tool. The main protection function is turned off upon delivery, and backup functions that are not usually used can also be set to Off.

This device can be used in applications with single bus or double bus single circuit breakers, and the protection scheme includes three-phase tripping and three-phase automatic reclosing scheme with synchronous inspection. Differential protection can protect up to 3 CT units, with 2-3 line ends as the main protection function. It has a communication module with single or redundant channels, which can be used for arranging two or more terminals. Optional distance protection can be provided, and the measurement functions of S, P, Q, I, U, PF, f can be used for local HMI and/or remote representation.
