The 490NRP25400 is a Modbus Plus protocol fieldbus fiber optic repeater from Schneider Electric. It has the following characteristics:

• Hot spare: Two cpus work in parallel. One serves as the active CPU and the other serves as the standby CPU. The active CPU works normally. When the active CPU is faulty, the standby CPU automatically starts running. In addition, when two cpus are connected by a communication interface and both are powered on, when the system fails, the primary CPU can notify the standby CPU to put into operation.

• I/O module Hot replacement: I/O modules and other modules have the "hot replacement" function to facilitate maintenance and enhance system availability.

• Health status display: Each module displays health status information when running, so as to facilitate fault detection and maintenance.

• Simple DIP switch: Modules are designed with a simple DIP switch.

• Enhanced communication capability: It has an independent bus electrical interface and two optical fiber interfaces, providing redundant dual-bus structure and optical fiber redundancy ring network function, which is mainly used to relay signals from one network node to another network node to expand the coverage of the network. It supports a variety of industrial communication protocols, such as Modbus and Ethernet/IP, ensuring communication with different types of devices and systems.
