Product Description
The GE Power Supply Board DS200EXPSG1A features one reset button, 3 fuses, and 1 LED. The GE Power Supply Board DS200EXPSG1A also is populated with 3 9-pin connectors, multiple capacitors, and test points. The 3 fuses on the board serve to protect all of the components on the board from over-voltage situations as well as other irregular voltage conditions. The element inside the fuse will melt if too much voltage is present in the circuit. In that case, the circuit the fuse is part of will cease operation, power will stop entering the circuit, and all components will be protected from the voltage condition. However, if the fuse blows, the servicer must determine the cause of the over voltage condition and the fuse must be replaced. If you are not familiar with the electrical supply used with the drive, consult with an engineer or other knowledgeable individual.
Refer to the written material that came with the board for the ratings of the fuses. It is important that you only replace the fuses with fuses with the identical rating. Another rating fuse might subject the components to voltage that could damage the board by exposing the components to too much voltage.
Once you are satisfied that the over-voltage condition is resolved, remove power from the drive. Then, disconnect all cables attached to the board and use a screwdriver to remove the 4 screws that attach the board to the rack cabinet. Examine the fuses and replace the fuses that are blown.
