MOTOROLA MVME162 is an embedded controller with dual height VME modules.

Processor: Equipped with MC68LC040 or optional MC68040 microprocessor. The MC68040 microprocessor has a floating-point coprocessor, while the MC68LC040 does not. There is a 25MHz 32-bit microprocessor with 8KB cache and memory management unit (MMU); If you choose the MC68040 processor, its clock rate can reach 32MHz.

• Dynamic random access memory (DRAM) with 1MB, 4MB or 8MB parity protection and with programmable parity.

• 512KB of static random access memory (SRAM) with spare battery.

• It has 1MB of flash memory (one Intel 28F008SA for the old board and four Intel 28F020 for the new board).

• Two serial ports, including one EIA-232-D DCE (Data communication equipment) and one EIA-232-D or EIA-530 DCE/DTE (Data Terminal equipment).

• Optional small computer System Interface (SCSI) bus interface with 32-bit local bus burst direct memory access (DMA).

• Optional LAN Ethernet transceiver interface with 32-bit local bus DMA.

• Four MVIP Industry Pack interfaces for easy connection to various external devices and sensors.

• Four 32-bit programmable timers and programmable watchdog timers (MC chip), as well as two 32-bit programmable timers and programmable watchdog timers (optional VME Chip2).

• Features 8K×8 non-volatile random access memory (NVRAM) and Time of Day (TOD) clock with backup battery.

VME bus interface: With VME bus system controller function, support VME bus interface to local bus (A24/A32, D8/D16/D32 and other bus width) and local bus to VME bus interface communication, convenient with other VME bus equipment for data transmission and interaction.

Switches and indicators: There are two push button switches (Abort and Reset) and eight LED indicators (Fail, Stat, Run, Scon, Lan, Fuse, SCSI, and VME) for users to view the operating status of the device.
