Bently Nevada 3500/61 Temperature Monitors
The Bently Nevada 3500/61 Temperature Monitor provides six channels of temperature monitoring and accept both Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) and Thermocouple (TC) temperature inputs. The modules condition these inputs and compare them against user-programmable alarm setpoints. The 3500/61 provide identical functionality except that the 3500/61 provides recorder outputs for each of its six channels.
The user programs the modules to perform either RTD or TC temperature measurements using the 3500 Rack Configuration Software. Different I/O modules are available in RTD/TC non-isolated or TC isolated versions. The user can configure the RTD/TC non-isolated version to accept either TC or RTD, or a mixture of TC and RTD inputs. The TC isolated version provides 250 Vdc of channel-to-channel isolation to protect against external interference.
When used in a Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) configuration, temperature monitors must be installed adjacent to each other in groups of three. When used in this configuration, the system employs two types of voting to ensure accurate operation and to avoid single-point failures.

Features
The Bently Nevada 3500/61 is a vital component within the 3500 machinery monitoring system, specifically designed for temperature monitoring applications.
The 3500/61 is a temperature monitor equipped with six channels, offering comprehensive temperature measurement and monitoring capabilities for industrial machinery2.
- Input Types2:It accepts a variety of temperature inputs, including resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) and thermocouples (TCs). This allows for flexible connection to different types of temperature sensing elements, accommodating various industrial monitoring requirements.
- Input Impedance2:Each lead input has an impedance of greater than 10 MΩ, which ensures stable signal reception with minimal interference, thereby guaranteeing the accuracy of temperature measurements.
- Power Consumption:The module has a nominal power consumption of 9 watts, which is relatively low, making it energy-efficient and suitable for continuous operation in industrial environments.
- Operating Temperature Range2:It can operate within a wide temperature range of -22 to 150 °F (-30 to 65 °C), demonstrating strong adaptability to different industrial site conditions.
- Front Panel LEDs:The front panel is equipped with LEDs, including "OK", "TX/RX", and "BYPASS" indicators. These LEDs provide clear visual cues for the module's operation status, facilitating easy monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Temperature Monitoring2:The 3500/61 continuously monitors temperatures through its six channels, providing real-time temperature data for different parts of the machinery system. This enables operators to promptly understand the temperature conditions of various components.
- Signal Conditioning:It conditions the input temperature signals from RTDs and TCs, ensuring their accuracy and reliability. The conditioned signals are then used for precise temperature measurement and further analysis.
- Alarm Function2:Users can configure alarm setpoints via the 3500 rack configuration software. The monitor compares the measured temperatures with these setpoints and triggers alarms when the temperatures exceed the preset limits, helping to prevent equipment damage caused by overheating or other temperature-related issues.
- Recorder Outputs2:Each of the six channels has a recorder output, which allows for convenient recording and storage of temperature data. This is beneficial for subsequent data analysis and trend prediction.
The 3500/61 is widely used in a variety of industries. In the power generation industry, it is used to monitor the temperature of turbines, generators, and other equipment. In the petrochemical industry, it plays a crucial role in monitoring the temperature of reactors, pumps, and compressors. Additionally, in the manufacturing industry, it is applied to monitor the temperature of production equipment to ensure the stability and quality of the production process.
In conclusion, the Bently Nevada 3500/61 is an essential device for industrial temperature monitoring. Its advanced features, high accuracy, and reliable performance make it an indispensable part of machinery condition monitoring systems, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of industrial equipment.
