Product Description
The GE Genius Adapter Board DS200ADPAG1 features one 40-pin connector and one 26-pin connector. It also has one 3-pin connector and one 10-pin connector. The 40-pin connector and the 26-pin connector on the GE Genius Adapter Board DS200ADPAG1 come with retention latches that are designed to keep the cables attached to it in place. To connect a cable, hold the cable connector and press the cable into the connector on the board and make sure it is firmly seated. Then, you move the latches over the cable connectors until the latches lock in place. When you are ready to replace the board and remove the cable, first open the latches and move them away from the cable. Then, grasp the cable from the connector only and pull the cable free from the connector.
Because the replacement board has multiple connectors that will need to be connected, it is best practice first to record where the cables are connected on the board. Do this by drawing a diagram of the board and marking where the cables connect before you disconnect them. You can also attach a tag with the connector information on it to the cable. Either way, it will speed up the replacement and lead to fewer errors if you know beforehand where to connect the cables.
Consider that the 40-pin connector and the 26-pin connector attach to ribbon cables that carry control signals to and from the board. It is important that you only grasp the connector part of the ribbon cable to pull it out and that you make sure the retention latch is open before you remove it.
