Product Description
The GE DOS DUP Processor Board contains three 26-pin connectors, one 40-pin connector, and 19 jumpers. The board also has 2 LEDs. The GE DOS DUP Processor Board is also populated with two fuses that the servicer can replace, if necessary. However, there are steps that must be followed to perform the fuse replacement.
You can inspect the board if you suspect there is a problem. Locate the board and inspect the fuses and check that the element in the fuse is blown. Remove all power from the drive before you touch any components, cables, or boards. Use a tester to verify that power is removed from the drive before proceeding. Also, be aware that power resides in the drive for 20 seconds after power is removed. You might have to remove the board to replace the fuse. Use a screwdriver to remove the four screws and washers that hold the board in place. Keep the screws and washers together and store them because you need them to reinstall the board. Note where the cables are connected to the board before you remove them from the board.
Place the board on top of a static protective bag and remove the blown fuse. You must only use an exact replacement fuse. Refer to the information for the rating of the fuse before you replace it. If the fuse is not the same rating, it might allow more current into the board and damage components.
