Product Description
The GE Field Exciter Board DS200FECBG1 features 2 jumpers identified as BJ1 and BJ2 and an overvoltage protection controller integrated on the board. The board is 5.5 inches by 4 inches in size and it has holes in each of the four corners for attachment to the board rack inside the drive. The board has a specific location for installation and when you plan the replacement note the location of the old board and plan to install the replacement in the same location in the rack. Also plan to use the same screws that secured the old board. Use two hands when you remove the old board. Use one hand to turn the screwdriver to remove the screws and use the other hand to steady the board. Don’t let the screws fall into the board cabinet and get lost. If they do fall, stop the replacement and locate them. The screws might cause an electric shock or damage components in the drive, if they are resting on electrical components. Instead, keep all the screws and washers in a safe place. Also, they might get lodged in the moving parts of the motor and cause damage to the parts.
When you remove the board place it on a clean and level surface. Place the replacement next to it on an EDS safe material, like the static protective bag it arrived in. Locate the jumpers on the old board and move the jumpers on the replacement to match the positions.
