Product Description
The GE Software PROM Set DS200GASCF1ADB features two PROM modules for use with GE Speedtronic Mark V boards. The PROM modules in the GE Software PROM Set DS200GASCF1ADB store the configuration parameters for the drive. When you receive the modules, they arrive in a sealed static protective bag. Locate the shipping label on the outside of the box and either save the label or write down the model number, serial number, and other important information. Save the information with your other important material about the board. If you ever have reason to call for service, having the information ready will speed service and the customer support representative can provide accurate information for your specific hardware and software.
Keep the modules in a clean, dry, and cool location. Keep the static protective bag sealed to protect the modules. When you are ready to install the module on a board, place the board on a static protective surface that is clean and dry. Wear a wrist strap and use a sharp blade to open the bag. Place the module on top of the socket and do not touch the metal connectors. Press down on the module to install it.
Connect the drive to the laptop through a serial cable. Reinstall the board and when the drive is operational, use the control panel to start the upload function. Optionally, edit the configuration before you upload it. When the upload is complete the control panel displays a message that the function is successfully completed.
