Product Description
The GE GTO Gate Driver Board DS200GGDAG1AGD features 2 3-pin connectors and 2 bayonet connectors. The GE GTO Gate Driver Board DS200GGDAG1AGD also contains 2 sets of 4 LEDs. Each set has 1 red LED, 1 amber LED, and 2 green LEDs. The GE GTO Gate Driver Board DS200GGDAG1AGD also features a 20 VDC capacitor mounted on the board. When you power off the drive to perform a replacement procedure, it is important to allow the current in the capacitor to exit before you handle the components. This is true because the capacitor stores and releases high-voltages during normal operation. The high-voltages will exit the capacitor after thirty seconds.
One preventative measure is to use a tester to verify that all voltages are absent from the drive before you proceed. Make sure the probes are well insulated and that the material is in good condition.
It is always necessary to wear an EDS protective device because static build up on the board can damage the board. One common ESD device is a wrist strap which provides a path for the static to seek ground through a bare metal surface like a desk leg or any other metal structure. One end of the strap connects to your arm or hand and the other end is clipped to a metal structure. Some EDS straps alternatively have a plug connector that fits into a receptacle on a workbench leg. It provides a more secure connection. The EDS device will only protect the board if both ends are connected.
