Product Description
DS200ITXDG1A IGBT Snubber Board MK V General Electric
The DS200ITXDG1A is a board component that was fabricated by GE to be used within the Speedtronic Mark V system. The MKV is one of GE’s later-developed Speedtronic systems for managing gas and steam turbines. It includes fault-tolerant TMR architecture with two-out-of-three voting on critical controls and protection parameters. The MKV has the ability to be set up in Simplex form for less complex systems, and still offers fault-tolerant control through software settings with this design. MKV boards can be purchased from AX Control as reconditioned, fully tested units.
The DS200ITXDG1A is a small board that functions as an IGBT Snubber Board. Snubbers are designed as energy absorbing circuits that can suppress voltage spikes that occur when a switch opens. The switch may be electrical or mechanical. This is an auxiliary board that connects to a larger motherboard.
The DS200ITXDG1A is designed with drill holes at each corner and with small indents along its edges. The board has several heatsinks to allow quick dissipation of built-up heat. It is populated by several stab-on connectors, by ceramic capacitors, diodes, vertical pin header connectors, and by eight Wima FKP 1 polypropylene capacitors. These capacitors are designed for high pulse duty and are self-healing. They have a very low dissipation factor and a negative capacitance change vs. temperature. These components are placed on the board in two lines of four on opposite sides of the board.
