The FBM203 is a thermal resistance input/output module produced by FOXBORO (now part of Schneider Electric), which is mainly used in industrial automation and process control fields such as chemical, power, petroleum, etc., to monitor and control various temperaturely-related parameters. Here are some of the features and functions of the FBM203:

• Analog input: Has an analog input channel for receiving the analog signal of the thermal resistance sensor and converting it into a digital signal for processing by a PLC or other control system.

• Analog output: May also contain analog output channels for sending control signals to actuators or other control devices to achieve regulation and control of the system.

• High precision: It usually has high resolution and high precision analog signal conversion capabilities, which can achieve accurate acquisition and conversion of thermal resistance sensor signals.

• Communication interface: Supports common communication interfaces, such as Profibus, Modbus, etc., and can communicate and exchange data with PLC or other control systems.

• Rugged design: Strong extruded aluminum housing for physical protection of the circuit. It is designed for installation at different environmental levels and provides protection in harsh environments according to ISA standards.

• Easy maintenance: When removing or replacing a module, you do not need to remove the onsite device end cable, power supply, or communication cabling.

• Visual indicator: The front of the module integrates visual status indicators to provide status display of fieldbus module functions.

• Modular backboard mounting: The module is mounted on a DIN rail mounted module substrate that can accommodate up to four or eight fieldbus modules. The baseplate can be DIN rail mounted or rack mounted and includes signal redundancy fieldbus connectors, separate DC power supply and termination cables.

• Fieldbus communication: The fieldbus communication module or controller processor interfaces with the FBM203 via a redundant 2Mbps module fieldbus. The FBM203 can accept communication from either path (A or B) of the redundant 2Mbps fieldbus, and if one of the paths fails or switches at the system level, the module will continue to communicate via the active path.

• Terminating assembly: Field I/O signals are connected via a DIN rail mounted terminal assembly (TA) or a substrate mounted TA (FBM203/B/C only). DIN rail mounted TA has compression screw type (using polyamide material) and ring connector type (using polyamide material) and other forms; The substrate mounted TA (FBM203/B/C only) is available with compression screw terminals (using polycarbonate/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene material).
