These software make it easy for users to adopt open industry standards. In addition, with DDE, ActiveX and ODBC compatible technology, the field data can be easily integrated with other application software. Rockwell Software offers a workshop-to-top solution. First of all, RSWireTM can be used to develop control electrical schematics, and in RSLogixTM PLC programming software to use the input label in RSWire. With RSView32, and again using these tags, build an MMI system to monitor the automation equipment and process. Then join RSToolsTM and RSLadderTMActiveX control, develop their own application software, and realize the perfect connection with the field equipment. Rockwell Software's software can be generally divided into seven categories: (1) communication software; (2) Component software; (3) Design software; (4) Diagnostic software; (5) human-machine interface software; (6) Programming software; (7)RS and A-B documents

1 Communication Software

(1) The InterchangeTM series of software is an application program interface (API), which simplifies the communication between various main computer operating systems and A-B processors.

(2)RSLinxTM series software is server software for A-B programmable controller, providing communication connection between A-B PLC processor and RA and many software products of other companies (such as Microsoft). It makes full use of the Windows NT operating system with multi-threading, multi-task, multi-processor and other performance, through a variety of communication interfaces, can be combined with many applications run. And the interface is intuitive and easy to learn. Its main characteristics are:

① Since all 32-bit A-B drivers are packaged in one package, upgrading to new processors and new networks is easier.

② Compatible with RS, A-B and third party software products or software products developed by users using RSLinx's open CAPI or AdvanceDDETM.

③ DDE interface is used for synchronous read and write access to PLC-5 and SLC500 processor data.

(4) CAPI is used for synchronous and asynchronous read and write access to data of PLC-5, PLC-2, PLC-3 and SLC500 processors.

⑤ Support the parallel operation of multiple communication devices.

⑥ It is easy to establish DDE hot connection with copy/paste function.

⑦ Use network DDE to share data with other computers.

⑧ Optimize DDE read operation to achieve effective use of system resources and reduce network congestion.

⑨ Block read and write achieves the highest communication speed and reduces network load.

⑩ Make system observation more intuitive through RSWho functions and easy-to-understand diagnostic functions.

(3)RSNetworkTM series software is mainly used for configuration of control network and equipment network.

(4)RSServerTM series software is industrial DDE server series software, it can be used as a DDE interface software to access GE Fanuc Series90 (SNP), GE Fanuc Series90 TCP/IP, Reliance Automax DCS Programmable controller, Allen-Bradley Bulletin 1400 PowerMonitor module or GE Fanuc Genius I/O system.

(5) The RSSQL series software combines the powerful processing engine and intuitive user interface to connect the enterprise information system with the field, and can establish the processing connection between the relational database system (RDBMS) and the process control system. Use an intuitive point-and-click interface to configure processing to link processor data points to columns in a database table.

(6)WINtelligent TMLinx series software allows Microsoft Windows DDE compatible software to exchange data with A-B processor and controller, and field data can be read into the application software for display, login and trend chart operation. You can also set a separate parameter from the monitoring computer or download the recipe to a supported device.

2 Component Software

(1)RSToolsTM is ActiveX control software for industrial processes. Use this control to capture and display field data in ActiveX package containers such as Microsoft Visual Basic, Internet Explore and RS RSView32. These controls can be used in discontinuous production, process control and SCADA environments. For distributed applications, RSTools can be used as client software for RS 'RSPortalTM products, and data can be obtained from remote nodes on the Internet or Intranet.

(2)RSPortalTM is Internet data transmission software. It provides efficient, fast and secure transmission of data over TCP/IP networks. It is designed to accommodate a variety of networking solutions and can be used to transmit data on an "enterprise-wide" Intranet or over the "worldwide" Internet.

(3)RSSnapshotTM is an Internet image software connected to DDE data. It makes the DDE server data instantly visible to any guest computer with any hardware platform, operating system, or Web browser.

(4)RSWorkbenchTM for Visual Basic development environment. As an additional option in the VB development environment, it gives users access to reusable code, images and templates, and is an extended object-based drawing package. The entire software consists of several modules, each of which helps reduce the time spent developing software for industrial applications.

(5)RSWorkshopTM is a comprehensive development kit for VB development environment. It includes the RSToolbox ActiveX control and RSWorkbench VB editor add-on software. Enhance the Microsoft VB environment with a reusable component library and development tools.

(6)RSMailmanTM includes three OLE automation servers to enhance the functionality of the MAPI based mail system. Through it, OLE automation client software can use the advanced information to accept management, predefined message editing and schedule and other functions.

In addition, the component software also includes RSAlarmTM, RSAnimatorTM, RSButtonTM, RSCompareTM, RSGaugeTM and RSLadderTM.

3 Design Software

The RSWireTM family of software offers an easy-to-understand software solution that advances from drawing board or mechanical design to accurate schematic design while producing supporting documentation. It automates control system design and can generate an intelligent schematic. Use the symbol and macro libraries in the existing design to quickly generate schematics. Intelligent wiring reasonable connection symbol, and in the symbol placed at the connection point to automatically disconnect, to ensure the correct expression of the design content.

4 Diagnostic Software

The SMART DiagnosticsTM family of software is a system monitoring and diagnostic tool that periodically checks system performance as well as the status of network communications, controllers and process variables.
