Product Description
The GE Generator Control Turbine Board DS200CVMAG1AEB contains two 16-pin connectors and one 2-pin connector. The board also is populated with 6 test points. The GE Generator Control Turbine Board DS200CVMAG1AEB is subject to damage from static and so you must be careful when you handle and install the board. When you open the box the board is shipped in, you’ll notice that the board is packaged in a sealed plastic bag. The bag serves several purposes when it is sealed tight. It protects the board from dust, dirt, and other contaminants as well as water or other liquids that might spill on it.
Primarily the bag protects against static which can damage the board. Consider that static build up can occur when you walk around carrying the board. The surrounding air can cause static to build up on your body and the board. Touching surfaces and walking on some surfaces can also cause a static buildup. With that in mind, it is best to refrain from carrying the board unless you are installing the board. Keep in mind that dry air you experience in cold weather causes a greater build up of static.
The GE Generator Control Turbine Board DS200CVMAG1AEB is shipped to you with a wrist strap that allows the static to drain off your body and the board. One end of the wrist strap is wrapped around your wrist and the other end is used to clip to a metal surface, for example the leg of a workbench.
