The role of A6500-SR in industrial automation

A6500-SR plays a crucial role in industrial automation. It is part of the AMS 6500 ATG mechanical protection system, and the system rack allows for the installation of up to 11 protection cards (two channel A6500-UM universal measurement card and/or four channel A6500-TP temperature process card), one A6500-RC relay card, and one A6500-CC Com card. The rear of the A6500-SR system rack is equipped with push in spring cage connectors for connecting input and output signals, D-Sub connectors for providing sensor raw signals, and sliding switches for configuring key signals and binary inputs. Each of the 11 protection card slots has four eight cage spring connectors for connecting multiple sensor types (eddy current sensors, piezoelectric sensors, seismic sensors, RTD, etc.), binary inputs, binary outputs (functional outputs), current outputs, and pulse outputs. A6500-SR can be used for measurement, monitoring, and protection, providing high reliability for the most critical rotating machinery in factories. It can be used in conjunction with AMS 6500 ATG to form a complete API 670 mechanical protection monitor, with applications including steam, gas, compressor, and hydro turbine machinery.

What is the monitoring function of A6500-SR

The monitoring function of A6500-SR is very powerful. It can install multiple protection cards, such as the A6500-UM universal measurement card equipped with 2 sensor input channels, which can work with the most common sensors such as eddy current, piezoelectric, seismic, LF, Hall effect, and LVDT. It also includes 5 digital inputs and 6 digital outputs. The measurement signal is transmitted to the A6500-CC communication card through the internal RS 485 bus and converted to Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP protocols for further transmission to the host or analysis system. In addition, the communication card provides communication through a USB socket on the panel for connecting to a PC/laptop to configure the card and visualize measurement results. A6500-SR can also output measurement results through analog outputs of 0/4-20mA, which have a common ground and are electrically isolated from the system power supply. The A6500-SR system rack is used for measurement, monitoring, and protection, and can provide real-time monitoring of the operating status of key rotating machinery in the factory, ensuring the safe and stable operation of the equipment.
